8 Qualities of a good woman

The days of playing around are done, you are getting older and is now deciding to find a good woman for a serious relationship.

The qualities of a good woman are the same as the qualities of a good person. However, women are usually faced with different challenges than men, such as choosing motherhood over their careers. To be a good woman you must value good morals and positive interactions with others.

The measuring stick of your godliness isn’t based on a comparison to other women (not even the Proverbs 31 woman), but on your personal commitment to a source that is higher than you.

After careful consideration, here are some things that should guide you in developing into that kind of woman, please provide feedback, we would love to know what you think.

1. Resonate a calm and quietness of spirit

“Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” (1 Peter 3:4)

You don’t frantically wring your hands in the valleys of the unexpected. Fly off the hook when things are not going your way, the children are afraid the minute you walk into a room, yeah it can be hard however a good woman have the inner peace of the Holy Spirit to comfort, guide, and teach her when everything seems out of control. You learn to lay your concerns at the foot of the cross and leave them there.

2. Be grounded in courage and strength

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

As our culture tumbles down the slippery slope of worldliness and immorality, you are confident in your Sovereign God to make all things work together for good. (Romans 8:28) You will refuse to let fear invade your thoughts or feelings by constantly reminding yourself of God’s promise to never leave you. No man can help you with that, not one!

3. Be relentless in prayer and intercession

“Pray continually.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

My mother, bless her heart could not afford to give us the finer things of life, but she knew how to pray, our father is the happiest man alive. We need godly women to fervently grab hold of their higher source just like the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15:21-28 and refuse to let circumstances dictate the final outcome over faith. The man of the house is a misguided concept, both by men and women, our men feel they should dominate and our woman sometimes because of the presence of the man leave it to the man, but as a godly woman, you will never give up praying for the hardest hearts, the deepest needs, or the highest mountain tops.

4. Confess your faults

“I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin.” (Psalm 38:18)

By confessing your sins to your higher source on a regular basis, your heart will remain humble and tender to others who fall into sin’s treacherous temptations. To admit when you make a mistake is not a weakness but a strength of the highest measure. Practice to say I am sorry, even when you are not sure who is at fault, but be sorry for the circumstances that led to a discord.

5. Exercise light-heartedness and good humour

A cheerful heart is good medicine.” (Proverbs 17:22)

Rather than displaying a sarcastic or mocking verbiage at the expense of others, a godly woman brings an inescapable joy with her wherever she goes, we describe her as the red rose woman. You learn to not take yourself too seriously and you will speak life without sacrificing truth or righteousness in your conversations. So heavenly minded that you are no earthly good, not good is it? My mother would say, “Let your words be seasoned with salt”.

6. Be driven to complete tasks thoroughly

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10)

As a good woman, you are fully committed to finishing to the best of your ability. Whether for home, job, or church—your dependability reflects the inner conviction of working for your higher source and not for those around you. Your reputation becomes solid among believers as well as unbelievers.

7. Forgive as easily as you are forgiven

“Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” (Colossians 3:13)

As a good woman, your forgiveness is unconditionally given to others as you are unconditionally forgiven by your higher source. You choose to forgive in spite of your feelings.

8. Be patient with yourself

Calm and patient people are often seen as “good” because they may be a constant and positive presence during a crisis. You will be less prone to over-react and argue if you can be patient with others and yourself.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

The dynamics between man and woman have been gradually changing for the past few decades, but the essence of the partnership basically remains the same.

We are designed by nature in a way that allows two such opposites to join and make a whole. Finding your other half is a journey of its own – usually a gruelling one at that. We may never be perfect, however we continue to strive. What is better than to strive And be guided by the bible.
